Establishment of Academic Committee of Beijing Key Laboratory of Energy Economics and Environmental Management and Symposium of Think Tank Research Project of National Natural Science Foundation were held successfully

On Aug. 18th, 2017, establishment of Academic Committee of Beijing Key Laboratory of Energy Economics and Environmental Management and symposium of Think Tank Research Project of National Natural Science Foundation were held in BIT. Over 20 experts from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, National Energy Administration, Tsinghua University, Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Communications, State Grid Corporation of China and PetroChina, together with official leaders like Yan Renquan from Beijing Science and Technology Ministry, deputy director Feng Keliang from Beijing Municipal Construction Committee and disciplinary official Yang Zhihong from BIT attended the symposium. Pro. Wang Zhaohua from School of Management and Economics and academician Peng Suping from Academic Committee hosted the symposium of think tank research project.

 

 

Doctor Yang Zhihong delivered a welcome speech on behalf of BIT and committee Yan Renquan attended the symposium and gave a speech. Pro. Tang Baojun, associate dean of School of Management and Economics, read out the group members of academic committee, laboratory director and deputy director. Yang issued appointment letters to these members.

 

Prof. Wei Yiming, laboratory director, reported the construction and operation plan of Beijing Key Laboratory of Energy Economics and Environmental Management. Deputy director Pro. Liao Hua, associate research Lyu Bing from Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, deputy director Pro. Zhang Xiang, based on progresses of each think tank research project, gave academic reports in terms of energy poverty status, challenges and responses and electric vehicle subsidy policy respectively. During the session, present experts discussed and proposed advice for lab building scheme and think tank research progress.

 

Beijing Key Laboratory of Energy Economics and Environmental Management, one of the five selected organizations working on new research fields, was certificated by Beijing Municipal Science &Technology Commission, supported by School of Management and Economics, BIT and Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research, BIT. The key laboratory, aiming to construct a think tank of energy economics and environmental management strategies and focusing on energy economics and management issues of China, especially in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, conducts theoretical and practical researches on energy economics and environment management from an international perspective, centered on issues involving major strategic needs and key subject problems in social economic development and based on big data, artificial intelligence, decision support system and other interdisciplinary theories and approaches. The lab’s work covers complex system modeling research of energy economics and environment, decision support system and platform research of energy economics and environment, research on countermeasures of low-carbon economy and sustainable development and research on low-carbon city system and behavioral economics. The lab team was also accredited Innovative Research Group of National Natural Science Foundation and one of ten outstanding research groups of Beijing Natural Science Foundation during the 12th Five-Year Plan.
