Professor Liao Hua, who is one of the vicepresidents of the CSEEM, was recently appointed by the Ministry of Education of China as a Cheung Kong Young Scholar of 2015.
The Young Scholars Program was established for the first time in the Cheung Kong Awarding Program of 2015, altogether 211 young scholars were selected, including the talents from humanities and social sciences whose age were not more than 45 years old.
Ever since 1998, the Ministry of Education and Li Ka Shing Foundation have been cooperating for the startup of “Cheung Kong Scholars” Program, including distinguished professors and chair professors scholars, with aims of implementing the strategy of re-invigorating China through science and education, recruiting top talents both at home and abroad, cultivating pioneers of high-level disciplines and speeding up the construction of national key disciplines or keeping up its international advanced level.
